G-Shock Enters The Building!
Well, in order to usher in the new year, this marked our 6th official Bay Area event and it was yet another success.
First off, let me start by continuing to extend a huge THANK YOU everyone so supportive of this idea.
It was great to meet yet another set of new members to our meetup group and I cannot wait to continue to include anyone that is interested and meet you all in person one day!
One really cool thing about this event was that we were joined by Clark Nelson, the North American Sales Director for G-Shock who brought the MR-G line of high end G-Shocks along to present to the group.
Ranging anywhere from $2500, to $5000, and $7500, this line combines the traits of the G-Shocks we all know with high end Japanese craftsmanship techniques like “traditional kasumi-tsuchime metal hammering. This forging technique, in which metal is pounded with a hammer, has long been used to form robust metal products such as armour and copperware. The technique has been passed down to modern times by skilled masters of the craft through a history of over 1,200 years.”
As always, big thank you to Topper Jewelers for helping us put together a great catered event in partnership with G-Shock.
As a Watch The Bay Bay Area meet up first, we also surprised our attendees with a raffle for a classic G-Shock that a lucky winner took home!
Everyone got to try on anything and everything they had their eyes on at Topper but the best part of any meetup and getting to know the fellow community members and their own tastes.
Closing ceremonies took place at Steelhead Brewing Co. where we shared some food and drinks to keep the party going.
All in all, it was a lot of fun and I thank everyone that attended and helped make this yet another successful event!
Stay tuned for our 7th event sometime soon :-)
Until then, see you next time!
As always, a massive thank you to Chris and our other contributing members for capturing most of these great images!
